Welcome to Amite City!
Amite is located just off Interstate 55 and Highway 16 in the middle of Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana. We are privileged to be the parish seat and home to many government offices and their personnel. Although we are a small town, the big cities are not far away. We are seated in the perfect spot. Baton Rouge is only an hour to the west, Hammond just twenty minutes to the south and New Orleans is about a ninety minute drive below us.We are also home to the Amite Oyster Festival and Tangipahoa Parish Fair. Chamber sponsored events include: The Spring Golf Tournament; Bon Appetite Festival; and the Annual Christmas & Oyster Festival Parades.
Amite Chamber of Commerce Vision Statement is to actively promote business activities that will help produce an economically prosperous Amite while sustaining an excellent small town quality of life. The Chamber Board and Officers welcome you to contact them regarding any questions you have about your business. They will be more than happy to consult you regarding building facades, window displays, marketing management, public relations, and any other question you may have or give you a referral to an acknowledgeable party.
